# Autumn- University Preparation Course

DURATION: 16 weeks


REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 15 days before programme start date


LEVELS: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) Placement test: First day of class


COURSE MATERIAL: Textbook + Teaching material developed by the school


THE COURSE INCLUDES: Certification+ ECTS credits + Course material + Cultural activities

Module 1

 

Developing students’ general communicative competence

 

Expanding on students’ knowledge of Spanish culture through a practical, hands-on approach

 

Improving students’ knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, etc. through a practical, hands-on approach, focusing on their real needs

 

Providing students’ the chance to practice oral production, comprehension and interaction

 

Module 2

Improving students’ general communicative competence in Spanish

 

Getting students acquainted with the different written and oral texts used in a university environment

 

Raising students’ awareness regarding the learning process and improving their autonomy

 

Getting students acquainted with the Spanish university system.

CONTENTS  

 

Module 1

Written and spoken language, interaction (dialogue, conversation, discussion).

 

DELE tests: structure, contents and strategies to obtain the best results.

 

Relevant aspects of Spanish culture, celebrities.

 

Spanish 20th century literature: main authors and titles.

 

Galicia and Santiago de Compostela, Northern Spain and the Camino de Santiago.

 

Module 2

Specific features of Spanish for academic purposes

 

Types of academic texts (both written and oral)

 

The Spanish academic world (evaluation, attendance, relationships with professors, etc.)

 

History and current situation of Spanish university

 

ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE  

 1 per week


Guided tours around the Old Town, the city parks and museums, cooking workshop, radio workshop, dancing sessions, tapas tour, night-time stroll, coffee-house discussions, food and cultural festivals, sports activities.

Módule 1 

 

MORNING: Monday to Friday: 9:15 am to 14:00pm

AFTERNOON: 2 hours a week

 

Módule 2 

 

MORNING: Monday to Friday: 9:15 am to 14:00pm

Attendance to 100% of the course is compulsory in order to get the course certificate (absences shall only be justified for excusable reasons: medical condition, administrative issues, etc.)

The payment of the registration and accommodation costs should be done 15 days before the course start date.

Cancellations must be communicated in writing to the International  Courses Office.

This is our cancellation policy:

1. Course

    - Once the course has started, there is no refund.

    - Less than 15 days before the start of the course, a 200 €

       cancellation fee.

    - 15 days or more before the start of the course, a 60 € cancellation

       fee.

 

2. Lodging

    - More than 10 days before the start of the course, there is no 

       charge.

    - 10 days or less before the starting of the course, one week 

       lodging fee will be charged.

    - The change of accomodation, once the course has started, will              imply an additional charge of 200 €.

 

3. Visa refusals:

    - If the course has started, there is no refund.

    - The student has to prove Visa refusal with an official document              and a fee of 100 € will be charged.

       If no official document is presented, there is no refund.
