# The adventure of learning Spanish on the Camino de Santiago

DURATION: 1 week


REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 15 days before programme start date


WEEKLY HOURS: 20


LEVELS: A2 As per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL)


MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS PER CLASSROOM: 25 students minimum


COURSE MATERIAL: Materials developed by the school


THE COURSE INCLUDES: Course certificate + Cultural activities + Learning materials + Hostel accommodation and meals


PLUS... Health insurance, tutoring sessions, student assistance staff, access to university libraries and sports facilities, WI-FI, accommodation and transfer management

Target Audience

High school students between 14 and 18 years old

About the course

The course offers high school students the chance to live a unique linguistic-cultural experience during a full-immersion programme.


Students will experience the adventure as they walk through two stretches of the Camino while improving their Spanish and discovering the historical and cultural roots of this age-old route. They will come into close contact with the pilgrims' world and the local lifestyle, in an amazing natural setting.


During the three classroom sessions at the USC, students will get acquainted with the historical, artistic and multicultural dimension of the Camino, improving their communicative skills in Spanish. In the afternoon, students will have the chance to discover the secrets of this city, the final stop of the Camino, by taking part in the leisure, participative activities included in our programme.

Classroom lessons

Spanish language, following the CEFRL standards and the Syllabus of the Instituto Cervantes.

Classes on the Camino

  • The Camino de Santiago: yesterday and today
  • The Camino routes
  • Legends, rites and traditions
ACTIVITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE  

Lessons on the move

  • Two stretches of the Camino, 10 to 15 kilometres long, including experiential workshops
  • The features of Romanesque art: visit to a temple on the Camino
  • Traditional crafts and trades on the Camino
  • Music on the Camino. The instruments of the Portico of Glory
  • The pilgrim city. Guided tour to the Cathedral and the Museum of Pilgrimage
DATES AND SCHEDULE  

This on-demand course may be organized any time all the year round, according to the requirements of the applicant school.

Schedule

3 morning sessions at the USC (1hour of language class + 2 hours of culture lessons) and cultural activities during the afternoon + 2 days walking a stretch of the Camino.

  2. The payment of the registration and accommodation costs should be done 15 days before the course start date..
  3. Our cancellation policy:
    • a. Cancellations must be communicated in writing to the office of Cursos
      Internacionales.
      b. If the course is cancelled 15 days before the start date, If a course is cancelled 15 days prior to its start date, the student will not be entitled to any refund. If it is cancelled before that 15-day period prior to its start date, the student will be refunded the fees less €200. Changing accommodation once the course has started may be implemented at an additional charge of €100.
