# The Camino de Santiago: training and experience

DURATION: 2 weeks: 1 week of Lessons at the USC + 1 week walking The Camino

About the course

This experiential programme is a multidisciplinary approach to the Camino de Santiago through the study of the language, the history, the art, the culture, the gastronomy and the social and economic reality of the Camino.

During the first week you will attend university classes taught by specialists, getting immerse in the traditions and contemporary reality of the Camino.

During the second week, you will have the chance to walk a stretch of the Camino with a teacher of the USC. This journey is divided into 6 stages of 20-25 km each, average, and it will go through several places of historical and artistic relevance that will serve as a context for the classes on the way.

Accommodation and meals are included in tuitions. In Santiago: students residence or hostel with breakfast and lunch. On the Camino: guest houses or hostels with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • 5 days through the English Way from Ferrol, walking 25 km per day

  • Within the city walls: San Martín Pinario, San Francisco de Santiago
  • San Paio's Church
  • Museums: the Holy Land Museum, the Sacred Art Museum 
  • Outside the city walls: The City of Culture and Santa María de Sar

WALKING A STRETCH OF THE CAMINO

  • 5 days through the Portuguese Coastal Way, walking 25 km per day
    En-route practical classes taught by USC teachers

Schedule

MORNING SESSIONS: Monday to Friday, from 9.15am to 2pm. 1 hour of Spanish language + 3 hours of seminars about the Camino. AFTERNOON SESSIONS: cultural activities.

The payment of the registration and accommodation costs should be done 15 days before the course start date.

Cancellations must be communicated in writing to the International  Courses Office.

This is our cancellation policy:

1. Course

    - Once the course has started, there is no refund.

    - Less than 15 days before the start of the course, a 200 €

       cancellation fee.

    - 15 days or more before the start of the course, a 60 € cancellation

       fee.

 

2. Lodging

    - More than 10 days before the start of the course, there is no 

       charge.

    - 10 days or less before the starting of the course, one week 

       lodging fee will be charged.

    - The change of accomodation, once the course has started, will              imply an additional charge of 200 €.

 

3. Visa refusals:

    - If the course has started, there is no refund.

    - The student has to prove Visa refusal with an official document              and a fee of 100 € will be charged.

       If no official document is presented, there is no refund.
